WELCOME TO OUR CLUB
Established in the 1940’s, Border Aviation Club is one of South Africa’s most long-standing flying institutions. Border Aviation Club was built on the passion of a select group of post-war aviators, eager to promote aviation and grow the aviation community within the Border region.
Today, as a registered non-profit organisation, these values still hold true with an ever-growing membership over 140-strong, and encompassing all facets of aviation, from weight-shift microlights to warbirds and historical aircraft – and everything in-between!
Our membership is as diverse as aviation itself, from teenaged ab-initio students, to aviation engineers, commercial and airline pilots to the casual weekend flyers still pursuing their passion in their 70’s! This eclectic group has proven that the common denominator of aviation can lead to great success when Border Aviation Club successfully hosted the Airshow of the Year in 2009.
Our continued commitment to grow general aviation is evident in our range of monthly events such as fly-aways, open days and landing competitions, as well as our affiliation with organisations such as The EP Skydivers and various photographic clubs.

The club bar is a notable and well-used feature of the club – as a gathering place for like-minded people, sharing friendship and a love of flying. The bar, and its associated lounge area, along with the new undercover braai area outside, combine to make an excellent venue for our club events. The venue is also made available at competitive rates for events not club related. The small kitchen is available for the odd cup of coffee and light meal.
